About the Author

The author’s combined qualifications in the worlds of science and wine give him a unique position and authority to write these pioneering books.

Benjamin Lewin was the founding Editor of Cell, the world's leading biology journal, and is author of several best-selling books on science. He holds the prestigious qualification of Master of Wine from the Institute of Masters of Wine in London (there are fewer than 300 Masters of Wine worldwide).

His first book on wine, What Price Bordeaux?, received worldwide critical acclaim for its innovative approach in dissecting wine production in Bordeaux. His second book, Wine Myths and Reality, extended the same critical approach to a worldwide survey of the forces driving wine production.

He divides his time between the eastern United States and the wine regions of Europe, and is presently working on his next book.
